Exploring The Zodiac with Camilla D'Errico

We had the privilege of interviewing our friend Camilla D'Errico recently on her new exhibit: The Zodiac. Camilla shared some of her time to break down her inspiration for the exhibit and other projects and conventions that she will be at.

It is always great to talk to someone that has such a strong passion for their work that you can feel them glow as they talk to you. Talking to Camilla has inspired me to work on projects that I have in mind and hopefully will come into fruition sometime soon. During our conversation, we talked about how she decided on interpreting the signs with her unique style, how supporters create a great community and our guilty pleasures.

Toward the end of our interview, I bought back a segment that we did on the Fandads podcast called "PWR". In this segment, we asked Camilla what games she is Playing, what shows/movies she is Watching and what books she is Reading. We received some fun replies to these questions.

Read a little about Camilla and her awesome talents and listen to our interview below.

Camilla has distinguished herself as one of the breakthrough artists in pop surrealism and manga, weaving western styles with surrealist elements. Her unique style bridges cultural and geographical boundaries and has caught the eye of celebrities including Brittany Spears, Guillermo del Toro, and George R. R. Martin. Camilla is published by Random House/Watson Guptill books, Image Comics, IDW, Dark Horse Comics, and more, and self-published her literature-inspired series, Tanpopo.

She tours cities throughout North America and is featured at various events including the upcoming San Diego Comic Con. Camilla will return to Haven Gallery, following the prior success with her Masquerade solo exhibition in 2016. Her new paintings, each embodying a different sign of the Zodiac, feature characters of all shapes, sizes, and races with a message of love, unity, and diversity worked into each one.
