Becoming agents with #SafehouseChicago

The following post might have or have not happened. The Fandads were invited to attend the grand opening of Safehouse. All thoughts and opinions are our own. I think we said too much already.

After getting the clearance from Control, the Fandads can tell you about a new location where you can hang out with fellow agents, have some drinks and regal about your latest missions. This place is called Safehouse.

When you first enter Safehouse you are greeted by a fellow agent. He could be your leader or a spy, who knows, but pay close attention to what happens next. Two things can happen here: you either give them the password to gain entrance or you have to complete a highly complex test to gain admittance. Our group of agents had to do a conga line and once we did that we walked through the secret door into the location.

Once inside we were surrounded by so much spy nostalgia that we were not sure what was and what wasn't watching us. One of the walls was filled with so many cameras that you couldn't help but feel that someone was watching you in an office somewhere, perhaps petting a cat.

If you feel that all that surveillance is too much for you and you want to have a private conversation, go to the table with the cone of silence. This table will guarantee that no one will be able to hear what you and your fellow agents are talking about. Although it may be hard for your server to take your order under there.

Agent Fandads and Agent Fanmom (I know we're so original) decided to find a spot at the bar where we were entertained by Agent Presto. Agent Presto had some great magic tricks that he showed us, but like everything in there, we can't really talk about what we saw. I can say it involved knives, rabbits and burning wallets. 

Control made sure to provide all the agents in attendance with some nourishment to keep us healthy and strong for our missions. The treats we tasted were Spy Sliders, fresh pretzels, Nachos Camp Stanley and Fried C-4 Cheese Curds. All of it was delicious, but the Spy Sliders were my favorite of the bunch.

If you've seen any spy movie, you know that they always have their signature drink and Safehouse does not disappoint with that. From the Espionaje to the Spies Demise, the two drinks we had) they packed a good enough punch to keep you on your toes. I did try the Code Beer that came with a complementary glass as far as Ale's go, it was pretty good and had a sweet taste to it.

Safehouse has a lot to keep agents busy when they are enjoying their drinks. From all the spy memorabilia on the walls, to the scavenger hunt, their app (Safehouse app available on iTunes and Android Store)  and all the hidden messages all around the place. You will be wanting to return to catch what you didn't see the first time.

As our mission came to an end we took advantage of the photo booth for proof that we were there, but I think our disguises will prove otherwise. It was not until after we walked out that we learned about the secret exit that had laser beams. We'll try that adventure on our next visit.

For non-profit spy rings, the SafeHouse provides covert tools for fund-raising.
