Video Game Time 2/22 Edition Part 1

Better late than never, huh guys?

So I few big titles have come out in the past few weeks and we are a little behind on the reviews, so today we will play catch up.  Last weeks big title was Marvel vs Capcom:  Fate of Two Worlds.

I am a big fan of the fighting games, but I am not that good at them.  The only ones that I play are Street fighter and Mortal Kombat, and I did play the first two of the Marvel vs Capcom series years ago and really liked the cast that the game provided.  This third one in the series does not disappoint.  If you are used to playing the latest interpretation of Street Fighter IV, than you should not have much trouble in transferring those skills into MvC3. The control scheme is very similar and there is even a simple mode for those of you that are new to the game.

I found the game very easy to pick up and play. I did spend a few hours in the training mode to brush up on my "skills" and then felt ready to play the game.  There are 36 characters to choose from and you select a team of three to play in the single player mode.  The three that I used were Spider-Man, X-23 and DeadPool. I felt pretty comfortable with this team and think that when I get more practice I will be a force to rekconed with, but in the meantime, I still must practice.

Marvel vs Capcom 3 is a great fighting game and worth the price. The online modes are great, even for beginners, because you are matched with players of the equal or greater skill. The only fault I have with the game is that there is great animation throughout the game, but character endings (spoiler) are still pictures with text...really!  Don't know why they went this route, but animated endings would have been a great reward for going through the single player mode.  Other than this small hiccup, Marvel vs Capcom 3: Fate of Two Worlds is an excellent addition in this new revival of fighting games.

Come back tomorrow for our review of Killzone 3, half way through it and all I can say right now is "WOW!" and by Monday I'll have a review of BulletStorm, which is also a lot of fun.
