Making big moves with HBO's Ballers and The Rock!

Disclaimer: HBO provided the Fandads with a review copy for this post. All thoughts and opinions are our own.

Dwayne Johnson is having a pretty good year. From hit comedies with Kevin Hart, playing a demigod in the Disney movie Moana and starring on the hit HBO show Ballers, its seem like The Rock has been busy cooking a lot of great stuff.

What does it take to be the #KingOfSoup #Sponsored

Disclaimer: I have partnered with Life of Dad and Idahoan® Foods for this campaign, but my opinions, dirty dishes, and a full stomach are all my own.

I remember in the early 2000's BC (Before Children), my wife and I would spend countless nights eating dinner at nice, not too fancy, restaurants and enjoying our meals at our own pace. We would talk about the state of the world and life in general. Who am I kidding, I was probably rambling on and on about some comic books I read and she was probably just being nice and listening to me. You know, good conversation.

All that changed once our first child was born. When she was a baby it was all candy and glitter as she slept in her car seat and we enjoyed our meal. If she started getting antsy, we would give her a bottle or her pacifier and all would be golden.  As she got older, things started to change. Fussiness would become crying and crying would lead to tantrums. It would get to the point that we would have to rush sometimes and our nice long dinners turned into asking for to-go containers once our food arrived.

Finding out Who you Are with Moana

In the middle of singing "How Far I'll Go", Moana looks out to the sea and says "What is wrong with me?".  I remember the first time I saw Moana, I did not really pay attention to those words, but the second time I saw it, those words hit me because I knew I said something similar to that when I was a young boy.

A Healthy Resolution with Groupon

This is a sponsored post. All thoughts, opinions, bumps and bruises are my own.

With the beginning of the new year, everyone makes a resolution to start doing something different for themselves. Whether it is to lose weight, eat healthier or stop smoking, we all look to change ourselves for the new year.

As for myself, I decided that I am going to start saving money on some of the things I love doing: running and obstacle races. Every year, I spend around $300 or more dollars on entrance fees to do some of these events, but I realized that I can cut down on these expenses if I started using Groupon more.

Long Way North makes the journey home tomorrow

Last year, the Fandads were lucky enough to see the animated movie Long Way North. With all the animated movies that were released last year, it was refreshing to see one that did not have musical numbers or 3D rendered characters. Although Long Way North did not have the same conventions as those movies, it did follow the tradition of having a strong female character in the lead role. You can read our review here and then you can experience it at home starting today on Blu-ray, DVD or Digital HD.

Get transported to a new world with Barbie Video Game Hero

Barbie has been around forever and will probably still be around after we are long gone, but throughout the years Barbie keeps changing with the times. With video games and virtual reality being big right now, it only makes sense for Barbie to find her way into a video game world with the upcoming release of her new adventure: Barbie Video Game Hero

The Return of T-Shirt Thursday!

I know Thursday is almost over and it's the second Thursday of the month but one of our resolutions for 2017 was to bring back T-Shirt Thursday!

Everyone knows that 2016 sucked for a lot of reasons but one thing that was absolutely amazing was the World Series. So how could we NOT have this shirt as one of our Thursday Tees.

Since we missed last week, here's a bonus tee from our friends at Loot Crate.

By the way if you're not watching Mr. Robot you are missing out!

That's it for this week! Keep an eye out for our podcast coming soon!

Tackling Divorce with HBO's new comedy series

(Disclaimer: Our friends at HBO provided us with a copy of their show Divorce for a review and giveaway. All thoughts, opinions, and uncomfortable laughs are our own.)

The topic of divorce is not one that seems like it is made for a comedy, but the new HBO series Divorce finds the right balance of humor and seriousness that makes it work. The series stars Sarah Jessica Parker, back on HBO after her long run as Carrie Bradshaw on Sex and the City, and Thomas Haden Church as a couple that has come to the end of their run after a hilarious incident at the birthday party of a close friend.

Here is Disney's movie slate for 2017. Are you ready?

Yesterday, Disney released their line-up of movies that are going to be released in 2017 and there are a few that have me really excited! The obvious ones are Star Wars and the Marvel movies, but Coco and Cars 3 has me really intrigued. Check out the movies below and let us know which ones you are excited about in the comment section.
