Chicago Toy & Game Fair is Coming Soon. Want to Go?

The Chicago Toy and Game Fair is coming up, November 23 & 24, and the Fandads will be there again this year and we want to take some of our readers with us...not in the same car of course, but we can all meet up there.  This year marks the 11th anniversary of CHiTag so it's planning out to be bigger than the previous years.  Never been to the fair? Keep reading to see some highlights of our previous visits, events taking place that weekend and a chance to win a family pass.  Ready, let's go.

Fan dads has been lucky enough to attend for the past few years and we have had a great time each year.  Last year was a fun time because my little girl got to play with more toys and we had fun shoting Nerf darts at Stormtroopers.  One thing I'm excited about for this year is that the Star Wars Breakfast has been moved to a lunch, so now I'll have the chance to hang out with the Stormtroopers over some blue milk and ask them about life on the dark side.

Here are some highlights from last year.

Here are some Fair highlights for Saturday, November 23rd:
10:00AM – 2:00PM: Check out the Young Inventor Challenge (YIC) exhibits and delight in the fun and creative toy and game inventions from some of our youngest inventive minds.  Cast your votes for the “Best in Show” and the “People’s Choice” awards and see who goes home a winner.

10:00AM – 5:00PM: Perfect your Yo-Yo skills with a dynamic performance competition featuring hands-on tips for all skill levels. The immensely entertaining and official Illinois State Yo-Yo Contest is open to all ages and will crown the longest standing yo-yo participant the title of champion.

12:00PM – 1:00PM: Meet and eat with your favorites from Star Wars 501st Legion: Vader’s First! You’re also invited to try your hand at a Stars Wars-themed rendition of the award-winning card game based on “War” for the chance to win a medal. (Registration required: http://www.chitagfair.com/events/501st.ht; Cost: $30 per child, $36 per adult; tournament only open to children ages 6 to 14.)

3:00PM: Help make history with the Girl Scouts of America by playing the Top Trumps Moshi Monsters deck in hopes of setting the Guinness World Record for the “Most People Playing a Card Game at the Same Time in the Same City.” (Registration required for Girl Scouts: http://register.girlscoutsgcnwi.org/) Code 88889

Each week until the show we will be giving away a family pass, five passes in total, to the fair. So make sure you visit each week to win.  If you don't win a pass, we still got you covered with a $2.00 off coupon. (Click here for ticket info and a $2 off coupon)  So, enter below and let your family and friends know and we'll see you at the Chicago Toy & Game Fair.
