Angry Birds Go Review and Giveaway!

Just when you thought the Angry Bird franchise is slowing down, something new comes along that takes it in another direction or in this case road.  Angry Birds Go! is the newest app that has the birds racing against the pigs for road supremacy, but it's also a new set of toys that bring the race cars to life.  One of these toy sets is Angry Birds Go! Jenga Pirate Pig Attack (say that 10 times fast) and the Fandads were given one to try out and share with you our thoughts.

This is not a paid post.  Hasbro has provided Fandads with an Angry Birds Go! game to review and play with for this post.  Our review and opinions are our own.

My little helper was excited to play this game, but with the holidays and all the presents that she got, it was kind of put on the side for awhile.  We decided to put time aside to play it and she couldn't wait to try out the new Angry Birds game.  As we were opening the game her job was to remove all the characters from the red plastic and have them ready to go.

First things first, I am a fan of Jenga. I always have fun playing that game and was interested to see how it was incorporated in this Angry Birds game.  There really isn't much of a stacking element to this game like in Jenga, but you do get asked a million times if you're done building it by your little helper, so they have that in common.  What you are stacking is the pieces inside of the pirate ship to look like the picture below, only to knock them down with your car.  

After playing with the toys for a few here is what we thought of this game:

Good Points -
The ramp now has rubber supports so it won't go sliding away when your car races up it.  This is a huge improvement on the Star Wars set that we reviewed earlier this year.

The catapult that shoots out the car has a good kick to it and really launches the car.

The game is a great tie in to the new Angry Birds Go app that was just released.

Who doesn't like building and destroying stuff.

Now the Bad Points - 

As with any game that you have to build, there should be an easier way to put it together without it falling apart on you if you accidentally bump into it.

The catapult that launches the cars should have a way to connect to the cars that isn't too loose.  I mean if you set your car up but move the catapult a little the car "unlocks" itself from the launcher and you have to connect it again.

It does take a while to get a handle on how to shoot the cars, but with practice you'll get the hang of it.

Playing with my little girl was fun, but after awhile she was getting a little tired so we created our own game.  We used the interior pieces of the pirate ship and stacked them up like a Jenga tower and used our cars to knock them down.  Although there is a certain way to play with this set as stated in the directions, I think that when you are playing with little ones, it's always best to create your own version of the game, so they don't get tired with it too soon.
