Why I Teach.

My little girl came to visit me one day.

I’ve been writing a post titled “The Overwhelmed Dad” for a while now and I keep putting it to the side, because I don’t want to sound like I’m being whiney about being a dad.  While I keep going back and forth with this post, I get ideas for other posts that I would like to write and then something like this happens to me.

First Picture of Ben Affleck In Batsuit!

Yesterday the internet went nuts with the reveal of Ben Affleck in the new Batsuit for the as yet untitled sequel to Man of Steel.  Zach Synder posted the picture on his twitter account (@ZackSnyder) and so far it has been retweeted over 45,000 times.

So what's all the hubbub about?  Well take a look and see for your self.

Friends, with the way winter has been hitting Chicago, a lot of us are not feeling like ourselves lately.  Some of us are suffering from "cabin fever' and others are just wishing for a little sun to cheer them up.  Well friends, Fandads is here with a little sunshine that will hopefully make us feel like ourselves again and satisfy that strange person that has occupied us this winter season. Fandads is going to give one lucky reader a $15 Fandango gift card and 5 Snickers bars to quell the winter doldrums.  Keep reading to see how you can win.

This post is sponsored by Snickers.

I know that this weather has not had me feeling like myself lately and if you have seen any of the Snickers commercials, you see that people become themselves again after eating a Snickers bar.  One person featured in a new commercial is our old friend Godzilla.  As you can see in the commercial below, he's all good and having fun with his crew, but once he gets hungry it's a different story.,

With the release of the new Godzilla later this May, this is a great tie in and got us here at Fandads thinking: "Who would we like to see Godzilla fight on the big screen again?"

If you have seen the trailer to new Godzilla movie, than you're probably like me and can not wait to go see it.  Well, how would you like to win a gift card that can cover a ticket to see this Godzilla and have some snacks already with you when you go see this guy cause major havoc?  Enter below with the rafflecopter and maybe you will win our prize pack.

So there it is friends, if you would like to win a Fandango gift card and some delicious Snickers Bars answer our question in the rafflecopter and we will randomly choose a winner on March 19.Don't forget to tweet and share this giveaway with your friends.

Potty Training

It's never too early to start thinking about potty training.

Are You Ready to Play Football?

Being a fan of football, my family and I always look forward to Sundays.  I mean, who doesn't like watching their favorite team playing on television or if you're lucky enough, being at the stadium watching the game.  I've been watching football since I could remember, but I never really knew the game as well as I thought I did. Even though I played a little football in high school, I couldn't tell you the difference between a "safety" and a ""cornerback".  I know one day my little girl will ask me about the game and I might not know how to answer her, but luckily Jon M. Richter, a dad that might have faced the same situation, created a book called "Let's Play Football" that breaks down the game in a kid friendly manner. Thank you sir!

Fandads was given a free copy for review and given the playdate supplies, all the opinions in this post are our own and yes, we didn't know what a "safety" did before reading this book.

T-shirt Thursday (sort of)

...and down to the wire. So it's a little late and this isn't technically a tee, AND the Pro Bowl was two weeks ago, but I thought that the new jerseys (and the new format) were pretty dope.

Of course being a Bears fan, I chose to highlight the Team Rice Brandon Marshall jersey. In case you were wondering, or just didn't hear about it since not too many people care about the Pro Bowl, the new format had Jerry Rice and Deion Sanders picking their squads before the game. This led to many match ups where teammates were going up against each other and they didn't take it easy on each other. I know that it is still basically an exhibition game, but at times it felt like a real game, little did I know at the time that it would be more competitive than the Super Bowl.
