The Fandads have been attending the Chicago Toy and Game Fair since 2012. Every year our children have a lot of fun playing with all of the cool toys that are available to play with. We always have fun seeing them enjoying themselves, and we have fun playing with the toys ourselves, too. Here is a quick rundown as to why you should attend the show and maybe there will be something for those of you that read until the end. Let's begin!
1. You never know who you will run into.
Every year we get to see the group from the 501st walk around and show off their incredible uniforms. I love seeing how they keep adding characters from the new movies as the years progress. Who knows what characters will be there this year.
2. It's a great way to find gifts for the holidays.
As your children play with all of the fun toys, you can start buying those holiday gifts a little early. Some of the vendors at the show have some great discounts on their toys and those discounts can help the budget conscious family save a little loot while buying gifts for the children in their families.
3. Fun for all ages.
Although it does not look like it from this picture, your kids will have fun taking pictures with some of their favorite characters at the show. Some of the past photo opportunities we had were with Paw Patrol, Shopkins, Pom Pom Wow and Soggy Doggy.
4. Meet great people!
Not only will you get to play with some new and fantastic toys, but you will also get to meet some cool people at this event. I met Katherine Nguyen, the owner of Building Block Toys the first time my family went to ChiTAG and we talked about toys and became good friends. Flash forward to a few years ago where both of us became trading cards that were being handed out at the show. How cool is that? If you attend tis year, stop by her booth, say hello and tell her the Fandads sent you.
5. Just Have FUN!
Yes, you read that correctly. While you are at the show, just forget about everything and have fun being a kid. Take some fun pictures with your family or just enjoy some of the cool programming that the show has to offer. I always enjoy watching the Yo-Yo Championship, because it is amazing to see what these kids can do with a yo-yo. Check out what else you can experience while at the show.
