When I was a child, I read the Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark series and regretted reading them at night because I could not sleep. As much as I loved reading these stories, they were scary as hell and the covers of the books made them that more scary to read.
When I was a teacher I bought the set for my classroom and read "Harold" to my class on Halloween. You would think that after X amount of years I would read that story like nothing, but it still gave me chills.
I never thought that these stories would make their way on to the big screen but Guillermo del Toro has turned our nightmares into reality with the release of Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark. I can not wait to see this when it is released on Digital since I was never able to see it in theaters. I like the fact that I can watch it during the day and maybe it will not be as scary as watching it in the dark.
