Enjoying good times, songs and beers at Hofbräuhaus Chicago in Rosemont

Last Friday the Fandads were invited to the opening ceremony at Hofbräuhaus Chicago and we had a blast. We have been lucky to be invited to this annual event and every year we go home with full stomachs and tired cheeks from laughing and smiling so much.

This year marked the 10th anniversary of the Chicago Comics Entertainment Expo or C2E2 as more people have come to know it and this year was a blast. We have been attending C2E2 since it first started and have only missed one year, but we always try to attend and enjoy the weekend with like-minded individuals and our families. Let's give you a rundown of what happened this year.

If you have been following the Fandads for a while, you know that I am a huge fan of Star Wars. In saying that, it does not mean that I do not know about Captain Kirk and his voyages with the crew of the USS Enterprise. I loved watching Star Trek when I was younger, but I really became a fan when watching The Next Generation and Deep Space Nine. The stories in those series were just so cool and innovative and I tried to keep up with the shows as much as possible.

The Wizard of Oz has been a big part of my life since for as long as I could remember. When I was younger my family would get together to watch the movie on television. I remember the first time I saw the movie go from black & white to color, I was amazed. It felt like I was watching a different movie that was so full of life with all the vibrant colors. Watching the movie with my family is not the only connection I have to the Wizard of Oz, it also runs in my immediate family.

Last Friday the Fandads were invited to celebrate the beginning of Oktoberfest at Hofbräuhaus Chicago in Rosemont, IL. This is the second time that we were invited to this event and it was a lot of fun and let us tell you about it if you have never been.
