Finding Your True self with Red Shoes and the Seven Dwarfs

Every now and then a movie comes along with a great message and gets lost because not many people see it. Red Shoes and the Seven Dwarfs is a fun retelling of the Snow White story but with a message about being true to yourself and those around you. While my family and I enjoyed the movie, we all agreed that it started a little slow before the storyline really picked up.

Getting Weird With Spies In Disguise

When I was younger I was the kid that would get lost in his own world with comics and video games. While I did have a lot of friends, I always felt like the outsider of the group. Growing up I've always had that feeling and even today I still feel like an outsider sometimes. I think that is why Spies in Disguise really connected with me.

Can you keep up with Sonic the Hedgehog?

Disclaimer: The Fandads were invited to an advance screening of Sonic the Hedgehog. All thoughts, opinions, and laughter are our own.

Last year we were all treated to the first trailer for Sonic the Hedgehog and the internet went crazy. Now it did not go crazy in a good way, it went crazy due to the way Sonic looked on the screen. We all know that Sonic is a video game character and has only been seen in a digital and animated version, but a live-action version did not translate how many fans wanted to see him.

Go Undercover with Spies in Disguise

Disclaimer: The Fandads were provided a digital copy of Spies in Disguise in exchange for coverage of the upcoming release for Spies in Disguise. All thoughts, opinions, and laughs are our own.

With so many great animated movies being released every year it's hard to watch and keep up with them all. Thankfully when these movies are digitally or physically released we have a Family Movie night and watch the movie in the comfort of our own home. Spies in Disguise was one of those movies we did not get to see, but are excited to know that it will join our movie collection next month.

Captain Underpants: The First Epic Movie is a movie I can watch over and over with my children. I think my son actually watches it twice a month in our household. If you have never seen it here is our review and why we highly recommend it. The movie is a great tale of friendship between two boys and how their imagination strengthens their friendship and get them in trouble now and then.

On the Road with Disney on Ice: Road Trip Adventures

Disclaimer: The Fandads were invited to attend Disney on Ice: Road Trip Adventures in exchange for media coverage. All thoughts, opinions, and feelings of joy are our own.

My family has been lucky in attending a lot of Disney on Ice shows in the past few years. My wife would buy us seats close to the ice and as the site grew we started getting invited to attend the shows. My daughter loves seeing her favorite characters on the ice and when we took our son to his first show, he was ecstatic the entire time. We are lucky to have been invited to the latest show and we are excited to see the new program that they have created.

Sporty Dad takes on the Spartan Stadion at Wrigley Field

A few weeks ago my children and I ran the inaugural Spartan Stadion at Wrigley Field and had a blast. What makes a Stadion race different from a regular Spartan Race? Well, let me tell you about it and our day in the "Friendly Confines".

Scary Movies to Tell in the Dark provides great scares for the family.

Disclaimer: The Fandads received a review copy in exchange for a review of Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark. All thoughts, opinions, and sleepless nights are our own.

I think I am not the only one that grew up reading the Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark by Alvin Schwartz. I remember reading those stories and legitimately being scared to enter a dark room because I thought characters from the stories will be waiting for me in the corners. As I got older and read the other two books in the series, my love for being scared by them grew and when I found out they were going to make a movie, I was beyond thrilled.

Just in Time for Halloween is The Spooky Tales of Captain Underpants: Hack-A-Ween

Captain Underpants is a staple in our household. My daughter has the books, which she reads to her brother every now and then. When the movie came out we watched it, enjoyed it, and my favorite part was at the end of the movie. We have watched the movie a lot at home and when the series came on Netflix we were excited. If you have not watched the show, take some time to watch them and then get ready for the new Halloween special.

With the barbecue season coming up, it is a great time to start gathering with family and friends outdoors. We adopted a Pelican! #StormBoy

Disclaimer: The Fandads teamed up with Good Deed Productions and The World Animal Foundation in exchange for a review of Storm Boy. All words, thoughts, and brainstorming sessions on naming our pelican are our own.

It seems like every year we get a movie involving a child helping out some type of animal or a movie about a dog or cat going on an adventure. Now while these movies may be cheesy to some people, these movies are what some of us need to see with our family in between all of the big action blockbusters. Storm Boy is one of those feel-good movies that involves a young boy helping out three pelicans and shows the friendship that they form.

Being Internet Awesome with Wreck-It Ralph and Google.

In Ralph Breaks the Internet we see Ralph and Venellope traveling inside the internet and meeting all types of characters. From the cool and fast driving Shank to the strange and seedy Double Dan. While this was an animated movie and we knew that Ralph and Venellope would be safe by the end, we all need to know how to traverse the internet and Google's Be Internet Awesome initiative is a great way to help parents teach their children how to be safe online.
