Get your voices ready to Sing! #SingMovie Review

Disclaimer: The Fandads have teamed up with Illumination Entertainment for this review and giveaway. All thoughts, opinions, and singing out loud are our own.

Animated movies have come a long way since I first started watching them when I was little. Back then the stories were simple and not too complex for children to enjoy them. Nowadays, a lot of animated movies have authentic emotions attached to them, that there is a lot to see than just what is on the surface. When I first saw commercials for Sing, I thought it was just going to be a movie about a talent competition, but there was a lot more to it than that.

Sing is a great movie because all of the characters in the movie are relatable. Who could not relate to Meena who has amazing talent, but gets shy when it comes time to perform? Johnny is also a relatable character that is trying to do the right thing, but is involved with the wrong crowd, which happens to be his family. Finally there is Buster who is, like all of us, a dreamer that keeps moving forward, even when things seem like they might just fall apart on him.

Sing is entertaining and a great film for all audiences that by the end you will be dancing and singing with the entire family.

The upcoming release of the Blu-ray comes with some incredible bonuses for the entire family mainly the 3 new mini-movies:

Gunter Babysits - Gunter offers to watch all of Rosita’s 25 piglets for the night, trying to prove he’s
the best babysitter ever.

Love At First Sight - During a piano lesson with Johnny, Miss Crawly becomes nostalgic about the
dancing and romancing of her youth. Johnny convinces her that it’s not too late to find someone and
helps her setup a profile on a dating website.

Eddie’s Life Coach - Eddie’s mom signs her slacker son up for a digital training seminar to get his life back on track.

I am not playing favorites here, but Gunter's mini-movie is my favorite of the three.

My family is always listening and singing along with great music in our house on the weekends and I loved that Sing had a lot of amazing songs that I know we will be singing together for days to come.

From Illumination Entertainment, the studio that brought you The Secret Life of Pets, comes an
animated comedy about finding the music that lives inside all of us. Sing stars Academy Award ® winner Matthew McConaughey as Buster Moon, an eternally optimistic koala who puts on the world’s greatest singing competition to save his crumbling theater; Academy Award ® winner Reese Witherspoon as Rosita, an overworked and underappreciated mother of 25 piglets desperate to unleash her inner diva; Scarlett Johansson as Ash, a punk rock porcupine with a beautiful voice behind her prickly exterior; and Taron Egerton as Johnny, a young gangster gorilla looking to break free of his family’s felonies. Sing is the musical comedy event of the year!

SING Special Edition is available with 3 New Mini-Movies on March 21 – just in time for Friday Family Movie Night!

The Fandads have teamed up with Illumination Entertainment to give a copy away to one of our lucky readers.

To win your copy tell us: Which song you would sing if you entered Buster's competition?

A winner will be chosen around noon on March 31st, so make sure to return to see if you won. Contest open to U.S. residents only.
