Last night the latest trailer for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 was released and it shows our favorite group of misfits, with some new friends, doing what they do best: shooting stuff up and showing the quirky relationship that they have with each other.
Let's talk about the poster for a minute. This poster is a great throwback to late 70's, early 80's science fiction movies. I like the way it looks like Star-Lord is disco dancing while everyone else is in an action pose. This is definitely a poster I want in my office at home.
While the trailer showed a lot of action it also showed some tender moments with the cast; namely Star-Lord and Gamora dancing together. Is this the beginning of something or just a fun moment between the two characters. Other fun moments we see are Groot happily waving at Gamora in the heat of battle. Rocket laughing, we can only guess, at one of his concoctions that he created. By far the best moment is Drax happily shooting a blaster and yelling "Die spaceships!" Obviously, this man loves what he does.
One of the big reveals is Kurt Russell saying that he is Star-Lord's father. While this would have been a cool reveal in the movie, I guess, since this information has been leaked for some time, why not just show it in the trailer. Who knows, maybe we will get more surprise moments when the movie actually comes out.
Set to the all-new sonic backdrop of Awesome Mixtape #2, Marvel Studios’ “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.
2” continues the team’s adventures as they traverse the outer reaches of the cosmos. The Guardians
must fight to keep their newfound family together as they unravel the mystery of Peter Quill’s true
parentage. Old foes become new allies and fan-favorite characters from the classic comics will come to
our heroes’ aid as the Marvel Cinematic Universe continues to expand. “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2”
blasts into theaters on May 5, 2017.
