HBO's Latest Home Offerings #giveaway

Disclaimer: HBO has provided the Fandads with copies of these shows for review. All thoughts and opinions are our own.

Today HBO Home Entertainment has released two outstanding series on Blu-ray, DVD and Digital HD and we want you to win a copy of one of them, but before we do that let's talk a little about Crashing and Big Little Lies.

Crashing: The Complete First Season is the semi-autobiographical comedy that follows a stand-up comic whose suburban life unravels, causing him to lose everything, but his sense of humor. Achieving universal critical acclaim and already renewed for a second season. Also included on the disc is Pete Holmes' first ever HBO stand-up comedy special Pete Holmes: Faces and Sounds.

Crashing: The Complete First Season includes even more exciting bonus content, including:

Guest Star Fan Club – Pete Holmes talks about his experience working with comedians Artie Lange, T.J. Miller, Hannibal Buress, and Sarah Silverman, all of whom guest starred in Season 1 of Crashing.

Comedy Extras – Enjoy the comedy stylings of T.J. Miller, Aparna Nancherla, and Pete Holmes as they perform their hysterical scenes from Season 1.

About Crashing - Get the hilarious lowdown on Crashing with star Pete Holmes and executive producer Judd Apatow.

The Art of Crashing - Hear what it takes to make it in the comedy business from Pete Holmes and his comic cohorts in this behind-the-scenes featurette.

I have seen Pete Holmes perform on television here and there and I was a bit tentative about this show. I saw his stand-up special and I became a fan. It's funny to see him tell his jokes and then start cracking up at his own jokes. I also liked the fact that he walked out on stage to The National.

The show is pretty funny and Pete Holmes does a terrific job of showing how a broken marriage can not only be sad but also humorous at the same time. There are a lot of great cameos on the show and it's just fun seeing Pete grow into his stand-up routine during the arch of the series.

Big Little Lies is based in the tranquil seaside town of Monterey, California, where nothing is quite as it seems. Doting moms, successful husbands, adorable children, beautiful homes: What lies will be told to keep their perfect worlds from unraveling? Told through the eyes of three mothers – Madeline (Reese Witherspoon), Celeste (Nicole Kidman) and Jane (Shailene Woodley) – Big Little Lies paints a picture of a town fueled by rumors and divided into the haves and have-nots, exposing the conflicts, secrets and betrayals that compromise relationships between husbands and wives, parents and children, and friends and neighbors.

Big Little Lies includes all seven episodes from the “exquisitely conceived and structured” (The Washington Post) limited series as well as six fascinating “Inside the Episode” pieces and an exclusive extended “About Big Little Lies”piece featuring never-before-seen cast interviews and behind-the-scenes footage.

I don't want to say to much about this show to give anything away, but I was hooked by the end of the first episode. The performances by each actress is superb and leave you wanting to watch the next episode. If you have already read the book you know what to expect, but if you are coming into this without knowing anything you are in for a treat.

The Fandads have teamed up with HBO to give two of our lucky readers a copy of either Crashing or Big Little Lies. To enter, write in the comments which DVD you would like and we will choose a winner on August 8th by noon.
